Hello! I’m Chrissie and I am an advocate for OCD and a certified peer support specialist. When I discovered Substack, I felt excited that I could start blogging again…it’s been so long! I love sharing the raw, vulnerable experiences of living with OCD. The deeper we describe the experience, the more it resonates and helps people heal from the shame and guilt the disorder causes. All of my content will come directly from lived experience from myself, or from experiences my community experiences. My goal is to be as transparent of a voice as I can be for the experiences not often talked about with OCD. The scary, taboo, shameful, embarrassing experiences that deserve a platform, too.
If you have OCD and you read my submissions here, I hope so much that you feel less isolated and know you belong to the community. If you don’t have OCD and you are curious to learn more, I hope you will approach my writing with an open mind and empathy for just how debilitating this illness is.
